I've always wanted to be an actress and/or be on tv!?

I like the idea and feel comfortable with wanting to be on television. I want to live a happy comfortable life while knowing that people out there are also enjoying me. But whenever I even think about trying there are so many people that say ';oh, well you can't you don't have the right body type!'; I still want to do it though. How did people that are fat and ugly end up getting a job like that when they aren't model A plus either? I just want a good television show and to have fun doing it like Elen Degeneres has. How would you go about doing it?
